VADODARA: To sort out confusion about the issues related to service-tax, provident fund (PF) and value-added tax (VAT) prevailing in the real estate industry, the Vadodara chapter of Confederation of Real Estate Developers Associations of India (CREDAI) held a seminar in the city.
The seminar was attended by realtors as well as top officials of the departments concerned where issues regarding PF, service-tax and VAT were discussed.
CREDAI vice-president Sanjay Patel said there was a lack of understanding regarding several issues and an interaction was necessary to sort this out.
Commissioner of central excise and service-tax D D Rishi, regional PF commissioners M Madhiazhagan and S K Suman, joint commissioner of commercial tax M B Bhavsar as well as CREDAI Vadodara president Vipul Thakkar attended the seminar. The officers assured the gathering that in case of any confusion they could be approached directly.
